Speed Checks- Sevenoaks District

Good evening Resident,

Local officers have been out this afternoon and evening completing Speed Checks across the district on key roads raised by residents such as London Road, West Kingsdown and Sevenoaks Road, Otford. These will be continued in the coming days/weeks/months to target road users committing road traffic offences, road safety issues are one of the most reported concerns by residents across the district.

Reminders:

Speed limits are set for a reason and exceeding them is illegal. The minimum penalty for speeding is a fixed penalty fine of £100 and three points added to your licence. Remember speeding kills.

Receiving 12 or more points within three years may disqualify you from driving. 

If you’re a newly qualified driver and receive six points during the first two years after passing your test, your licence will automatically be cancelled (revoked). To get it back you’ll need to apply and pay for a new provisional licence and pass both theory and practical tests again
