☀️ Hot Weather & Crime Prevention Tips

The heatwave has arrived and we all want to enjoy the longer days, time outdoors, and open our homes to let the fresh air in. Unfortunately, this can also create opportunities for opportunistic crime.

🏡Keep Your Home Secure

Lock doors and windows when you leave the house.

Avoid leaving windows open and unattended, especially those on the ground floor or that can be easily accessed.

If you're in the garden, make sure your front door is still secure (many burglaries happen while people are at home but distracted.)

🌳Be Aware in Public Spaces

Parks and open spaces get busier in the sunshine.

Keep personal belongings close and don’t leave valuables unattended.

Supervise children closely.

🍻Alcohol & Personal Safety

Social events and warm evenings can lead to increased alcohol consumption.

Stay aware of your surroundings, keep track of friends, and plan a safe way to get home.

Never leave drinks unattended.
