Caring for Our Community in the Heat |
||
|
Greater Manchester Police are reminding residents across Wardleworth, Milkstone and Deeplish to take a bit of extra care during the current warm weather and to look out for one another.
Please take simple steps to stay cool, such as keeping out of the sun during the hottest part of the day where possible, closing curtains and opening windows when it’s cooler, and drinking water regularly. Take extra care with children, older relatives and anyone with health conditions, as they can be more affected by the heat.
We would also ask you to check in on neighbours, friends and family members who may need support. A quick call or knock on the door can make a real difference.
From a policing point of view, please remember not to leave children or pets in vehicles at any time, as temperatures can rise very quickly. Also ensure homes are secure if windows or doors are left open, and keep valuables out of sight to reduce the risk of opportunistic crime.
If you feel unwell, seek advice from NHS 111 or a local pharmacy. In an emergency, call 999.
If you need help or support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to those around you. Working together as a community helps keep everyone safe.
