With the current hot weather and a lot of year 11 students now having finished their exams, we would like to remind people of the dangers with swimming in reservoir's and open water.
We have already had reports this year of barbed wire being cut and people entering the restricted area in Gullett Quarry.
This particular body of water along with a lot of others is fed by underground springs which even this time of year are extremely cold.
Unfortunately there have been fatalities over the years at Gullett Quarry where people have jumped in and gone into cold water shock.
Please do not attempt to enter the restricted area around the Qua rry as you will be in breach of bylaws which could land you in court.
Police and rangers will be carrying out regular patrols of the area during the current heat wave and throughout the summer.
