Drug Driving in the York area |
I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Road Safety Issues, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Responding to information passed to police by the community a local officer from the York Outer Neighbourhood Policing Team was able to locate a male said to be driving under the influence of drugs. This took place on Saturday 20 June. The officer located this vehicle whereupon a road side drug test was completed and from here the male was arrested and taken into custody. As with drug driving cases toxicology analysis is completed with the suspect continuing to co-operate in the investigation. Our thanks to those in the community who continue to provide us information on those driving whilst under the influence of drugs and alcohol. If you know anyone who may be driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol please let us know. You can do so by logging onto the North Yorkshire Police website or calling 101. Alternatively you can speak with a member of your local Neighbourhood Policing Team. Always dial 999 in an emergency If you ever experience this issue or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.northyorkshire.police.uk, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101.
Alternatively, you can stay 100 per cent anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
