☀️ Hot Weather Advice – Stay Safe During the Heatwave

The Met Office has issued Amber extreme heat warnings for Monday and Tuesday, followed by a Red warning for Wednesday and Thursday across parts of the country. This level of heat can have a serious impact on health and wellbeing — especially for young children, older residents, people with existing health conditions, and animals.

Please take extra care over the coming days and help keep yourself and others safe.

🌡️ How to Stay Safe in Extreme Heat

Stay hydrated — drink plenty of water throughout the day; pets need extra water too.

Protect yourself from the sun — use sunscreen, wear a hat, and stay in the shade whenever possible.

Keep pets safe — avoid walking dogs in the heat of the day; choose early morning or late evening.

Avoid strenuous activity during peak temperatures.

Check on vulnerable people — neighbours, family, friends, and children may need extra support.

Never leave animals in vehicles — even for a short time.
