I wanted to provide you with an update regarding road safety issues including speeding, dangerous driving and parking, which people where you live are highlighting as an issue of concern in their survey responses. 🚔 Neighbourhood Policing - Day 5 (19/06/26) 🚔 🔹Community Speed Checks and School Engagement Update 🔸Yesterday PC Robson, PC Fallows, PCSO Walker and PCSO Connah carried out speed enforcement checks along Genesis Way, Gloucester Road and Consett Road. Three drivers were issued tickets after being detected exceeding the speed limit. 🔻One vehicle failed to stop on Genesis Way. The registered owner will now receive documentation requesting details of the driver at the time of the offence. 🔺A further driver was given words of advice after being observed parking on the yellow zig-zag markings outside Benefieldside School. 🔹PC Curtis, alongside PCSOs Burnip and McKenna, attended Consett Academy. Several drivers were advised about their parking and were asked to move on to ensure the safety of students. 🟣 Officers also had the opportunity to witness Year 11 students celebrating the end of their exams and were pleased to be invited to sign a number of leavers shirts. 💛 PCSO Burnip joined the team in 2021, giving her the unique privilege of watching these students grow from their early secondary school days into confident young people, now ready to embark on their next exciting chapter. We would like to wish all students the very best for the future — stay safe and take care!
