Dear resident’s Hope you are all well and having a good week. Here’s a quick roundup from your local policing team of some of the work we have been doing over the last month in the Blakenall, Leamore, Birchills and Beechdale area’s The team are continuing patrols in the Wyrley View estate, Goscote Ln, Bloxwich, Walsall – this is in response to continued ASB – door knocking/kicking. Officers have been conducting patrols utilising multiple modes of transport, electric bike, foot, and car. Our first Street Watch group walk for the Wyrley View estate, Goscote took place with PCSO Marica on the 19th of June. Street Watch is a community-led project. It’s made up of groups of volunteers who are at least 18 years old. The groups go out and patrol their area. The patrols help to stop crime and anti-social behaviour. They also help people in the area get to know each other PCSO Waddington and Police Cadets from Walsall College conducted a patrol and litter pick through Leamore Park (11th of June) for more information on the police cadets programme, please see Police Cadets (13-17) | West Midlands Police. PCSO Grayson and members of the team have attended multiple primary schools across our wards and visited pupils from all year groups – talking about the role of a PCSO/Police, highlighting that police are not just around because something is wrong, but to look after the community – to offer reassurance and engage with people in our communities, so please when you see our officers out and about never feel you can not approach them and say hello. The team whilst conducting patrols at Reedswood Retail Park on the 16th of June arrested x2 person/s for offences including robbery and failure to appear at court. The team have linked in with businesses at local industrial parks. Our cuppa with a copper drop-in session have also continued across the neighbourhood- Starbucks, Reedswood, Christ Church Blakenall and St Chad’s Church hall- Beechdale. Officers on proactive patrols arrested a prolific offender in the Stephenson Sq area of Beechdale for numerous offences- Burglary, shop thefts, breach of license and assault x2 on the team’s PCs A big thank you to all who attended the PACT meeting held at the Blakenall Village Centre on the 11th of June, this was our best attended meeting so far. We have taken onboard the concerns raised and whilst we may not have been able to answer all questions raised to us, we hope moving forward we can continue to work together.
