Community Event around Heywood Town Centre |
||
|
Hi all, as most of you are aware from this morning an event has taken place this morning and will continue throughout the day. The event being a 1940s event showcasing military equipment, parading through the town centre. Myself, PC 10446 RAFI and PCSO 71370 ROBINSON made an attendance to ensure the event ran through smoothly.
We engaged with many members of the public at the event, even letting them in the police car using the lights and the sirens as you can see by the pictures attached.
Throughout the event while we was in attendance, we had been approached by security reporting an attempt theft, after locating the possible suspects, we have identified it was a misunderstanding and the son who suffers from autism was wanting to show the item to his mother who had then told him to put the item back. We relayed this information back to security staff who were happy enough for them to continue.
We were also approached by care home staff, who told us they had lost sight one of their vulnerable present in care, where then we conducted an area search and had located her nearby at a charity store.
Other than this, the event ran smoothly with no further issues reported to us.
