Operation Broad Oak early benefits |
||
|
We have been out today on our patrols. Sounds like another day at work for PC Loveday, but today was different. We were out under the banner of Operation Broad Oak and this means that I was out with 5 other officers. We were able to achieve so much more than when I am out alone. We even had one officer who paid to come in on his day off and help us. We have issued 2 CPNs. 5 CPWs and carried out 6 stop and searches. We have dispersed many more from the area. We are also handing out the maps like they are going out of fashion. The map is of the Acton Town Centre area and the South Acton Estate. What this means is that we have now banned two people from Acton. We are also explaining the reason we are doing this to those we are stopping and processing so the message is clear. This has to stop. We need to see a real change before we can stop the op. Until then we will see more officers in and around the town centre. Hopefully this is just the beginning. I know we have some more officers coming to help, we have even been promised some special constables to come and patrol with us. I will try and keep up the met engage posts, it is not always easy as I am usually working alone and have to resort to patrols on my own which are a little dull to write about and even more tedious to read about. There are only so many selfies i can post! I do think this Operation is real positive and I think we are already seeing the fruits of our efforts.
