Glossop SNT - Youth Engagement

The following input/events have taken place in the Glossop and New Mills areas this week. (15th to 18th June).

On Monday evening -15th June, PCSO Nicklin from New Mills SNT and PCSO Buller of Glossop YET called in at 'Youth Matters, New Mills Youth Centre, Longlands Rd, New Mills to visit and engage with the youngsters who taking part in the basket ball 🏀 coaching/trainiing, which takes place every Monday from 4.15 pm. Looks like we have some very promising players for the future in our area.

On Wednesday morning, 17th June - PCSO Buller had been invited to attend  ‘We Believe - You Achieve ’  a school in Glossop, who provide support and additional guidance for young people aged 11-16  - this is outside mainstreem settings and aims to provide calm, nurturing and personalised menotoring. During the visite he completed an Input, with students, on ‘Shattered’ Knives Shatter Lives, Derbsyhire Constabularies  bespoke input on Knife Crime and Knife crime awareness.

Later the same day, after lunch, an Input was completed on Anti-Social Behaviour, (ASB) and Crime (making a Good Choice not a Bad Choice) with Year 6 students (ages 10-11) at Newtown Primary School, Buxton Rd, New Mills.

On Thursday, 18th of June,  a further Input on Anti-Social Behaviour, (ASB) and Crime (making a Good Choice not a Bad Choice) was completed with Year 6 students (ages 10-11) from New Mills Primary School, Meadow St, New Mills.

Well, done and a big thank you to all of the young people who engaged with YET this week - once again there were some clever and well thought out examples and questions during the visits this week.  Thank you to staff, teachers and managers too. 👏🏻

It was encouraging to see lots of enthusiasm and some impressive examples and answers - all were a credit to each of their schools.
