Tackling violent crime in North Road, Kew |

Dear Residents,
You may be aware of two serious incidents that occurred in Nort Road, Kew in recent weeks, where victims were attacked with knives.
We understand these incidents may cause concern within the community. However, based on current information, there is no indication of an ongoing or wider risk to the public.
In the first incidence, on Friday 24 April 2026 at approximately 20:00 we responded to reports of a man being assaulted by a group of three individuals. During the incident, two of the suspects were reported to be carrying knives, while another filmed the attack. The suspects left the scene before officers arrived. Thankfully, the victim did not sustain any life-threatening or life-changing injuries.
A thorough investigation was carried out by officers from CID, Kew Safer Neighbourhood Team and specialist crime teams. As a result of this work, all three suspects were identified, arrested, and have since been charged and remanded in connection with the offence.
On 31st May 2026 at approximately 13:00, police responded to a report of a man being stabbed by two people. Prior to police arrival the victim and suspect had left the area. The victim was found a short time later and conveyed to hospital and it was confirmed that his injuries were not life threatening or changing. Enquiries area still ongoing in relation to the suspects for this offence. We have had meetings and discussions with Richmond Council and the managers of the building where both incidents took place, and improvements are being made to stop these incidents being repeated.
