Neighbourhoods Policing Week

This week is Neighbourhoods Policing week. The boroughs Ward Team teams have been out undertaking their normal patrols as well as responding to the issues that you have told us matter most. I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you some of the good work that has been done recently;

Last week we conducted an Op Vespa deployment supported by our Special Constabulary targeting the illegal use of scooters and e-bikes. In total we seized 23 vehicles and made 7 arrests.

We have conducted two Live Facial Recognition operations arresting 13 people for offence including burglary, theft, points and blades, GBH and trafficking offences. We also checked 16 individuals where complying court-imposed conditions.

On Wednesday the Deputy Commissioner Matt Jukes conducted a walk around in the Town Centre meeting partners including Croydon Voluntary Action and the Business Improvement District, hearing from residents and businesses and speaking to our officers about how the Met can support us locally to deliver for Croydon.

On Friday we have a Violence Against Women and Girls Day of action, you can expect to see more officers out across the Borough particularly in town centre areas and at transport hubs. Please do come and say hello.
