Neighbourhood Policing Week – Visible Policing in Wood Street & Upper Walthamstow ⭐
During Neighbourhood Policing Week, Superintendent Sarah Jackson spent time on foot patrol with our neighbourhood teams across Wood Street and Upper Walthamstow to see first-hand the work being delivered to keep our communities safe. Accompanied by PCSO Ewa Czernicka‑Choi, PCSO Neville Anderson and PCSO JD Dura, the team carried out weapons sweeps and visited a number of residential tower blocks, focusing on areas most affected by anti-social behaviour (ASB) and drug use. This visible and proactive activity is vital in deterring crime and strengthening our understanding of local concerns. The team were pleased to be joined by a local authority Tenancy Officer, which enabled constructive discussions around the issues impacting residents and reinforced the importance of a coordinated, problem-solving approach. Strong partnership working remains fundamental to addressing the complex challenges we face. The team highlighted key hotspot locations and showcased the collaborative work already underway with local authority and private partners. It was encouraging to see the positive impact of these efforts in reducing ASB and drug-related harm.
Superintendent Sarah Jackson added - I would like to thank our neighbourhood officers for their continued professionalism and dedication, as well as our partners for their valued support. This is neighbourhood policing at its best, visible, proactive and firmly rooted in the communities we serve. 💙🌟
