Neighbourhood Policing Week - local teams and partnership working. |
||
|
Neighbourhood Policing Week is an opportunity for the MPS to recognise the important role that neighbourhood policing plays in keeping our communities safe.
There is historic link to this - local police officers played an important role during World War II in advising and policing their communities at a time of conflict. Today the Safer Neighbourhood Teams are dedicated officers, known to their communities, who provide a visible presence and reassurance on streets right across London.
An important aspect of this is partnership working. This morning this principle was put into practice when Manor Park and Little Ilford SNT's joined LBN partners and undertook patrols around Wallis House and Arthur Walls House E12. They were joined by Superintendent Singh - who has special responsibility for Neighbourhood Policing across NE-CU. The two blocks chosen have been experiencing issues with homeless people gaining access to the blocks and engaging in anti-social behaviour which has been having a detrimental effect on the lives of residents.
Following top-bottom patrols in both block officers went to Jack Cornwall Square where LBN officials had set up stalls from various departments.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to speak to us today.
