I wanted to provide you with an update regarding road safety issues including speeding, dangerous driving and parking, which people where you live are highlighting as an issue of concern in their survey responses. 🚔 Neighbourhood Policing Week - Day 2 🚔
🚨Joint Enforcement Around School Parking🚨
On the morning, PCSOs McKenna and Burnip attended one of their local primary schools. Despite this, some parents were still observed stopping on the clearly marked ‘No Stopping’ areas. These markings are in place to protect the children and to ensure they can travel to and from school safely.
On the afternoon, PCSOs Burnip and McKenna were joined by PC Robson to carry out joint enforcement around parking at their local secondary school. A number of drivers were spoken to and given advice regarding their parking. However, one individual was issued with a fixed penalty notice after refusing to move their vehicle when requested.
🚸 Please remember: Parking considerately and legally around schools is essential. It helps keep children, parents, and staff safe, reduces congestion, and ensures emergency access if needed. Even a quick stop in the wrong place can put lives at risk.
