Dear Residents,
We are writing to inform you of a recent increase in anti-social behaviour, including deliberate arson offences, within our local area. Local authorities and emergency services are aware of these incidents and are actively investigating. Please review the guidance below to help keep our community safe, protect your property, and assist in preventing further incidents. Property Safety & Prevention Secure bins: Store wheelie bins away from windows and doors, ideally behind locked gates. Clear rubbish: Do not allow combustible materials or garden waste to accumulate near buildings. Lock up: Ensure all gates, sheds, outbuildings, and vehicles are securely locked at all times. Improve lighting: security lights around your property boundaries. Check alarms: Test your home smoke alarms weekly to ensure they function correctly. Vigilance & Awareness Stay alert: Report any unusual loitering or suspicious activity immediately. Monitor vehicles: Note down registration numbers of unfamiliar vehicles loitering suspiciously in the area. Check CCTV: Ensure your home security cameras or video doorbells are active and recording clearly. Speak out: Talk to neighbours to ensure everyone is aware of the current risks. How to Report Incidents Active fires: Call 999 immediately if you see a fire or someone actively setting one. Non-emergencies: Report past anti-social behaviour or property damage online or by calling 101. Anonymous tips: Contact Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 to share information without giving your name. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to keeping our community safe. | ||
