Due to the Football World Cup starting, DI Gibb was invited to speak as the City of Manchester lead for Domestic Abuse.
It’s important to highlight that, sadly, incidents of domestic abuse and violence increase during major football tournaments: 26% increase when a national team plays
38% increase if the team loses
11% increase the following day, regardless of the result These figures serve as a reminder for us all to remain vigilant and supportive of those who may be affected.
