Operation Lockstream

Just to update the community, we are currently carrying out activity as part of Op Lockstream alongside Trading Standards and partner agencies.

This is part of a wider week of action focusing on tackling illegal activity linked to businesses and organised crime. It includes work around illicit tobacco, illegal vapes, counterfeit goods and other unlawful items being sold in our communities. These types of products are often unsafe, unregulated and linked to wider criminality.

You may see increased police and partner presence in local areas, with visits to shops and premises. Businesses found to be acting within the law have nothing to worry about, however those involved in selling illegal goods, or repeatedly offending, can face enforcement action including large fines, loss of licences or being shut down altogether.

This work is about protecting the community, safeguarding vulnerable people and supporting legitimate businesses who are doing the right thing. These illegal trades often bring other issues into our areas, including exploitation, organised crime and antisocial behaviour.

If you have any concerns about businesses or individuals involved in this type of activity, please report it. Information from the public is vital in helping us take action.
