I wanted to provide you an update regarding Shoplifting, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.
Wanted male arrested
On 10th JUNE , PCSO RUSU 7047NW and PCSO PADILLA 7117NW were on mobile patrol in one marked police vehicle along STATION ROAD ROAD, EDGWARE , coming back to the base after MET ENGAGE meeting with residents from HALE DRIVE. While on STATION ROAD , PCSO's spotted MR SURAJ walking towards JADE PHARMACY . After police vehicle has been parked in a safe place , PCSO's went after Mr SURAJ which was spotted inside of JADE PHARMACY by PCSO RUSU .
PCSO RUSU 7047NW went inside of pharmacy and informed MR SURAJ that is W/M and further was detained . MR SURAJ was non-compliant and become very agitated, trying to escape . PCSO's used force to put him on the ground and immobilise him after falling off a motorcycle which was parked on parking spot. Further , he held on to the motorcycle that fell on a vehicle as well parked. Luckily motorcycle has caused no damage to the vehicle.
Multiple units attended to location and further PC MICHAELIDIS 113NW arrested Mr SURAJ, which later was charged with 4 shoplifting offences and fail to appear in COURT.
It was a very busy month for officers from EDGWARE SNT with a total of 16 ASB WARNING NOTICE issued , one COMMUNITY PROTECTION NOTICE and one COMMUNITY PROTECTION WARNING NOTICE issued for breach of ASB WARNING NOTICE, two SECTION 59 for breach of driving regulations and one Fixed Penalty Notice for breach of COMMUNITY PROTECTION NOTICE.
