Wincheap Ward Update |
||
|
Dear Resident
Despite the wet weather this week, it has been another busy period across the Canterbury district. I am pleased to report that we have seen a relatively low number of incidents within the Wincheap ward.
I wanted to take the opportunity to update you on some of the work that PC Angell and I have been carrying out.
This week, PC Angell was involved in the arrest of two individuals believed to be connected to the theft of a motorbike and a motor vehicle. I am pleased to say the stolen motorbike has since been recovered, and the offenders have been dealt with appropriately.
I have been working closely with local businesses to combat a rise in shoplifting offences. This proactive work has resulted in a number of stop searches being conducted, with stolen goods recovered. Offences have been recorded, and suspects will be dealt with accordingly.
We have also been liaising with the local council regarding ongoing fly-tipping at Larkey Valley Woods. The waste has been documented and will be removed appropriately, while we continue to explore ways to deter this behaviour and identify those responsible.
Both PC Angell and I have been conducting community engagement events across the ward, working alongside local councillors to support the community. We remain committed to spending as much time as possible in Wincheap, maintaining a visible presence and being accessible to residents.
If you see us out and about, please feel free to stop and have a chat. | ||
