Get Involved: Live Emergency Simulation at University of Northampton – Volunteer Opportunity

Ever wondered what happens behind the scenes during a real emergency?

The West Northamptonshire Council Emergency Planning Team are running a live Reception Centre Exercise on Wednesday 2nd September 2026 at the University of Northampton and we want you to be part of it.

We’re looking for individuals to step into the role of evacuees in a realistic emergency scenario. This is your chance to experience how major incidents are managed in real time and play a vital role in making the exercise feel real

What you’ll be doing

Taking on the role of someone evacuated from their home during an emergency

Interacting with real responders and seeing how support is delivered

Following a guided scenario - no acting skills needed!
