BRIXTON SAFE HUB EXTENDED AS NEW WELFARE VEHICLE ‘NOVA’ LAUNCHES

I am pleased to support Brixton BID as they extend the Brixton Safe Hub and launch Nova, a new fully electric mobile welfare unit for Brixton.

Since launching in February, the Safe Hub has already supported more than 1,700 residents, visitors and businesses with welfare support, safety enquiries and practical assistance. It has also played an important role in supporting women and girls, including phone charging, safety advice, signposting and help with reporting where needed. 

From Thursday 11 June, Nova will be based in Windrush Square every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 3.30pm to 10.30pm, offering visible support including first aid, directions, drinking water, hot drinks, phone charging and personal safety advice.

This is a strong example of partnership working between Brixton BID, Lambeth Council and the Metropolitan Police, focused on prevention, reassurance and practical support in the heart of Brixton. 

Visible, accessible support makes a real difference. Nova will help residents and visitors feel safer, more confident and better supported when spending time in Brixton.
