Scam Phone - Stay vigilant

Dear residents

⚠️ Scam Phone Calls – Please Stay Vigilant

We have recently received reports of scam phone calls circulating within the community, where fraudsters are attempting to obtain personal or financial information.

These callers may pretend to be from trusted organisations such as banks, police, HMRC, or utility providers. They can sound convincing and may use tactics to create urgency or panic.

Please remember:

❌ Your bank or the police will never ask for your PIN, passwords, or to transfer money

❌ Genuine organisations will not ask you to withdraw cash or purchase gift cards

⚠️ Be cautious of unexpected calls asking for personal details

Protect yourself by:

✅ Hanging up if something doesn’t feel right

✅ Waiting a few minutes before calling back on a trusted number (not one provided by the caller)

✅ Speaking to a friend or family member before taking action

✅ Reporting suspicious calls

If you receive a scam call, you can report it to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 or via their website.
