Today, officers from the Town Hall Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out a proactive traffic operation on Deansgate and Liverpool Road in response to ongoing concerns raised by local residents and businesses.
Throughout the deployment, officers stopped 11 vehicles, resulting in 6 Traffic Offence Reports being issued for a range of road‑related offences. Drivers were spoken to about safe driving standards, vehicle compliance, and the importance of keeping our roads safe for everyone.
During the operation, officers also identified and detained a male who was wanted for criminal matters since last year. He was arrested at the scene and taken into custody for further enquiries.
We will continue to carry out targeted activity across Castlefield to address community concerns, disrupt criminality, and keep the area safe.
