Charge of a male on Tag Croft

Afternoon all

You may remember that in May we attended an address on Tag Croft following concerns that there could be potentially explosive material inside an address.

Officers arrested a 34-year-old man at the scene on suspicion of offences under the Explosives Act and following further enquiries, and after consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, they have been charged.

David Rutherford, 34, of Tag Croft, Preston, who is also known as Kaylee Rutherford, is due to appear before magistrates in Preston this morning (June 5th) charged with Possess explosive substance for unlawful purpose from 02/05/2026.

As legal proceedings are active we can’t comment further but wanted to update you all nonetheless as appreciate it was a worrying event.
