Man jailed after proactive patrol uncovers Class A and B drugs |

A 32-year-old man has been sentenced to 31 months’ imprisonment for drug offences.
Fernandson Sousa, of no fixed abode, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on Wednesday 3 June for sentencing after being found guilty at an earlier hearing of:
Sousa was arrested in Newmarket on 12 March after officers on patrol had cause to stop a grey Nissan Juke driving along the High Street.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a quantity of cash, a SIM card, several press seal bags containing cannabis and a class A drug, and 10 vials of a class A drug. These was later identified as cocaine.
Further enquiries indicated that Sousa had been travelling to many different addresses.
Inspector Tim Scott said: “This case demonstrates our continued commitment to tackling the supply of illegal drugs in Suffolk and it highlights the effectiveness of proactive policing, with officers stopping and searching those suspected of criminal activity.
“Drug-related crime causes significant harm and misery within our communities. We encourage members of the public to report concerns or suspicious activity so we can continue to disrupt those involved in the supply of illegal drugs.”
