Police secure partial closure order on nuisance property in Watford |
||
|
A partial closure order has been granted for an address in Watford following concerns around anti-social behaviour, drug use and violence. The order, which was granted at St Albans Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Thursday 4 June), prevents anyone but the named tenant and specified organisations* from entering the address in the North Watford area for three months. Anyone who breaches the order is committing an offence and can be arrested. The Watford Community Safety Unit (CSU) worked alongside partner agencies to take action, following reports of: Sergeant Karl Diggins, from the CSU, said: “The behaviour of the tenant and visitors to the address was causing a great deal of fear and frustration for residents in the area. No one should be made to feel unsafe in their own home due to the selfish actions of others. “I hope this serves as a warning that we will not tolerate this kind of behaviour and will continue to work alongside our partners to take robust action against those causing misery among local communities. “If you’re experiencing crime in your area, we’d urge you to please report any concerns to us and our partner agencies to help us build a case and successfully remove those who are causing issues. While the action may not be immediate, we are always working behind the scenes to gather the necessary information and intelligence we need.” You can report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101. Always dial 999 in an emergency. * Emergency services and Chime Housing staff and contractors. | ||
