Marking Pride Month 2026 |
||
|
Dear Resident,
St James's and the West End are home to many LGBTQ+ businesses, residents and of course we welcome visitors from the queer community from all around the world every year. We are proud that people feel safe in London and are able to express themselves in one of the safest major cities in the world. Pride Month is an important time in which we remember and honour those who have brought about change and ensured progress has been made in the fight against bigotry. It's also a time to remind our wider community that even though progress has been made - gay, trans and other minority groups are still being persecuted in 2026.
Your local Neighbourhood Policing teams will be engaging with the community throughout the month and during London Pride in early July, and we encourage any victims or witnesses of hate crime to report incidents in the following ways:
If you'd like us to attend any of your Pride events get in touch. More about the history of Pride in the UK can be found HERE.
We hope you have a safe and happy Pride Month 2026!
