Commercial Fire, Lord Street, Fleetwood

Good afternoon, 

I wanted to take the opportunity to update you in relation to the Fire on Lord Street on Wednesday evening. 

At 5pm on Wednesday 3rd June we were called to reports of a fire at an abandoned property on Lord Street, Fleetwood.

Emergency services, including our officers, attended the scene and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service put the fire out.

Following enquiries, two boys were arrested.

A 13 year old boy and a 15 year old boy, both from Fleetwood were arrested on suspicion of arson. 

Since the incident, while pedestrian access has been maintained, a section of Lord Street between Kemp Street and London Street has been closed to traffic and trams and will remain closed for the foreseeable while structural work takes.

The bus services 5 and 14 will be using Station Road, Dock Street, Adelaide Street, Lord Street, then when Leaving the Ferry using Queens Terrance, Dock Street then Station Road.

The service 1 will use Station Road from Affinity, picking up on the normal route from Lofthouse Way.

As we head into the summer months, this is a timely reminder to speak to our young people and remind them that empty and derelict premises are not safe places to enter, gather in or shelter in and doing so can result in prosecution.
