Working Together for Safer Neighbourhoods in Bromley |
||
|
I’m delighted to introduce myself as the new Superintendent for Neighbourhood Policing in Bromley. This is not only a new role for me, but a return to a borough I know well and care deeply about. Many of you may recognise me from my previous time here, where I served as Chief Inspector for Neighbourhoods and as a Response Chief Inspector based in Bromley. More recently, I was the Neighbourhoods Superintendent in Hillingdon. These roles have shaped my belief that the most effective policing is built on strong relationships with the community. I’m pleased to say that Bromley is already seeing positive and reassuring trends. In recent weeks, crime has reduced across a number of key areas, including burglary, robbery and theft from the person. At the same time, detection rates are improving across most crime types. This means our officers are not only helping to prevent crime but are also identifying and dealing with more offenders. This is a real credit to our neighbourhood teams and to the communities we serve. Neighbourhood policing is about being visible, listening to local concerns and taking action where it matters most. It’s also about working together to tackle those who cause harm and to protect the most vulnerable. My focus now is to build on this momentum—continuing to reduce crime, strengthen our presence in the community and maintain public confidence. I’ll be out and about across the borough, meeting residents and listening to your views, because your perspective is vital in shaping our priorities. I’m proud to be back in Bromley and look forward to working with you to keep our communities safe. Priya Shome, Superintendent | ||
