E-Scooter Laws and Enforcement in Bromsgrove |
||
|
Dear all,
We wanted to provide an important update regarding the use of e-scooters within Bromsgrove.
Privately owned e-scooters remain illegal to use on public roads, pavements, and public spaces unless they are part of an authorised rental scheme. Users must meet legal requirements such as holding the correct driving licence and having valid insurance. Most privately owned e-scooters do not meet these requirements and are therefore being used unlawfully.
As part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and address community concerns, officers from Bromsgrove Safer Neighbourhood Team are now taking positive enforcement action. This includes the seizure of e-scooters under relevant powers and reporting riders for offences such as driving without insurance and failing to drive in accordance with a licence.
We are asking for your support in sharing this message within your communities to raise awareness and help prevent individuals, particularly young people, from committing offences unknowingly.
If anyone has concerns or wishes to report anti-social use of e-scooters, please contact us via 101, or 999 in an emergency.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards,
