Dear all, Hope you're having a lovely morning so far? I thought I would give you a round up of what was said at the Merton Park Residents Association / Ward Panel meeting in relation to crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB). A point was raised about a male who knocked over a woman walking whilst on a bike. The sergeant is looking into it, but it has been reported and dealt with, with the victim updated and reassured.Another mention was in regards to a drug farm that burnt down, and the resident saw the perpetrators back in the area. The cannabis farm in question was not on our ward, just across the border, but we will keep an eye out, and have informed our sister ward. This fire happened a few years ago now, but we will still be on the look out in case.Met Engage was mentioned too, and we went through the system with other residents.John Innis park was brought up, and the fact that we haven't been seen. We reassured residents that we do in fact patrol there. Our patrol times are normally at “hot spot” times, so later in the evening for example. Our PCSOs do however walk through on occasion, but if you see anything in there that warrants a call, please do!E-Bikes was another contentious issue, and a tough one for us to deal with. We reassured residents that when possible and safe to do so, we do stop and deal with rogue riders, but we also explained that chasing the bikes is difficult. On foot, we have no chance and in cars, we pointed out that bikes are far more manoeuvrable and can get away easier than a van. (We do still try though!) Recently, we've seized a number of illegal e-bikes but as they are so incredibly easy to modify they keep appearing. We are on it though! If there is anything you'd like to add, or let us know about, please fill in the form below! Please click here to complete the survey
Thanks and hope this reassures you! Dave and the team.
