Dear Resident

Whilst out on patrols of the Rothwell Fair this week, officers were alerted to a vehicle parked along Well Lane with no Tax or MOT. We have located the car and done checks which has also showed it not having insurance. Subsequently the vehicle has been seized by us and removed.

Parking is a concern that has been raised to me by numerous members of the Rothwell community at the Police drop-ins I hold at the Market House. Whilst Police do have limited powers when it comes to parking, I am keen to take action when we have the powers to do so.

Not only are these vehicles usually an eye sore abandoned in inconvenient and sometimes dangerous positions, not being road legal also poses a significant risk to others.

If there are vehicles in your area that you believe hold no Tax or MOT, I am keen to hear from you so they can also be looked at and removed.
