|
Incident Date: Wednesday 4th June At approximately 2:00 AM this morning, a black Ford Transit was stolen from the High Street in Lyneham. The vehicle was stolen without keys and no signs of damage were left behind, no broken glass etc. At approximately 2:00am at another address, CCTV captures the vehicle driving off. Police are requesting residents to check their CCTV for that time frame or if anyone has any further information, please contact police on 101 and quote reference number 43260278318 Vehicle Security: · Park your car in a garage if available, or under motion-sensor lighting. · Use a steering wheel lock, even if you have keyless entry. A visual deterrent can deter thieves. · Consider fitting a tracking device or immobiliser to your vehicle. The immobiliser will prevent the vehicle from starting even if the thief has the genuine key. Once inside the vehicle, the driver must enter a unique secret button sequence using existing controls within the car, such as steering wheel or dashboard buttons. Without the correct code being entered, the engine remains immobilised. · If you have a keyless entry vehicle, store your key fob in a Faraday pouch to block relay signals. · Never leave documents or valuables inside the vehicle. | ||
