CRIME update for May 2026 |

Dear Resident
Here is an update regarding Burglaries, Vehicle Crime and Criminal damage which occurred in the Dunkirk Police beat area during the month of May.
Burglaries residential = 4 05/05 City Road – Student burglary via unlocked rear door, MacBook and laptop bag stolen. 06/05 Greenfield Street – Suspect has broken lock off the door, untidy search of property, no items reported missing. 18/05 Friary Close – Report of group of people breaking into property and making threats. 23/05 Nazareth Road – 3x pane of glass smashed, entry not gained, nothing stolen.
Criminal damage = 4 01/05 Marlborough Street – Offenders have drilled fuel tank causing damage and stolen fuel from vehicle. 04/05 Friary Close – Spanner thrown at first floor window causing crack across external pane. 07/05 University Boulevard – angle grinder used to damage 12x electric cables 11/05 Finch Close – Vehicle damage by hitting body with palm of hand causing small dint.
Theft of motor vehicle = 3 03/05 The Midway – Between 11:45 am and 12pm, theft of motorbike. 20/05 Clifton Boulevard – 3x unknown males have attended with an angle grinder to break a lock, stealing a motorbike. 21/05 Claude Street – Theft of motor vehicle.
Theft from vehicle = 3 05/05 Lenton Lane – Samsung mobile phone and Next aftershave stolen from door pocket. 11/05 University Boulevard – Between 5pm and 6pm, vehicle door lock broken, handbags containing purses with bank cards stolen. Between 19/05 and 20/05 Claude Street – Unsuccessful attempt theft of vehicle, items stolen from within.
