Hello Beckton,
I hope you've had a good week. Let's take a look at what has been happening across Beckton over the past seven days.
Assault 29/05/2026 – A aggressive man approached another male near Stansfeld Road and initiated an argument. During the altercation, the aggressor punched the other before leaving the scene.
Burglary (Attempted) 01/06/2026 – A man entered a property via an unlocked front door on Mahindra Way and began to walk room to room. The residents were home, and the Suspect was detained by them. Police were called and the suspect was arrested for attempted burglary.
Causing Intentional Harassment, Alarm & Distress 28/05/2026 – A man Appeared to be touching himself as he spoke to two women at Itchycoo Pond. The suspect is half-known by the women and is believed to be local. We are hopeful that an arrest will be made in the very near future.
Theft from a Vehicle 28/05/2026 – A vehicle on Tollgate Road is believed to have been left unlocked during the early hours. An opportunistic offender stole perfume, sunglasses, and approximately £500 in cash. 28/05/2026 – A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle at Gallions Reach. 30/05/2026 – A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle in the Sainsbury's car park. 02/03/2026 - A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle in Clapps Gate Lane car park
Theft from Person 29/05/2026 – A phone was stolen in a cycle-enabled snatch on the Greenway near Clapps Gate Lane. Two suspects were on riding the same e-bike.
Theft of a Bicycle 29/05/2026 – An e-bike was stolen from outside a property on Angelica Drive. 03/05/2026 – Just before midnight three males in balaclavas were seen breaking into Brompton Bike Hire box in Atlantis Avenue. The witness bravely confronted the men and was threatened with their angle grinder. The thieves made off in a vehicle without a bike. Well Done to that brave local.
We remain very keen to identify and arrest the individual responsible for the incident at Itchycoo. I have deliberately not included a description, as it could potentially apply to a number of people. If you see anyone in carparks with a car-jack alert security or if you see them under a car and you believe they are up to no good, please call Police. Do Not put yourself in any danger.
Until next week, Be Good, Have Fun, Stay Safe Beckton Neighbourhood Police Team
Fun Fact Under Section 60 of the Metropolitan Police Act, it is an offence to shake or beat a rug or carpet on a public thoroughfare in London. You may, however shake a doormat….but only before 8am! | ||
