Hello Resident,
We hope you have been able to enjoy the recent good weather, hopefully it will return soon!
✅ Good News from Your Local Policing Team ✅
PCSOs from our local team have worked in partnership with West Midlands Fire Service this week at Morrisons, Small Heath. Our officers were offering advice and information on crime prevention, whilst our Fire service partner had a demonstration for child car seat safety and offered some valuable information on why we have car seat legislation. It was great to meet so many of our community and we look forward to doing this again.
Our PCs have been busy this week with various jobs, including arresting an individual wanted on recall to prison.
One of our PCSOs joined a patrol with our Deritend StreetWatch group. They were able to share local issues with the PCSO whilst being a visible presence in the area. While walking they noticed a homeless person who they were able to offer referrals and appropriate support.
On Saturday, one of our PCSOs was invited to the Dream Chasers Youth Club Annual Awards, this was a lovely evening with guest speeches from Simon Foster (Police and Crime Commissioner) and Carmen Watson (High Sheriff on the West Midlands) This was a wonderful event celebrating the great achievements of the group.
We came across an emotional individual on Tuesday who was away from home and needing support, we were able to get the person help and ensure they were feeling safe.
Also on Tuesday some of our StreetWatch groups were invited to Tally Ho! to celebrate their achievements and for West Midlands Police to show appreciation for the work and dedication these volunteers offer to their communities. Some of our local members received their 5 year service pins from Assistant Chief Constable Andrew Parsons. Well done to all our StreetWatch members.
🚨 Crime & Safety Updates — What You Need to Know 🚨
We have had some lovely weather recently and its been great to enjoy the warmer climes. 🌞
Whilst our officers have been out on patrol during the nicer weather they have noticed windows in buildings and cars left open. Although this may be tempting to reduce the temperature indoors, please remember this makes access to your building or vehicle easier. Buildings: Please ensure before leaving your premises that all windows and doors are secure. Vehicles: Please shut all windows and sunroofs, do not leave valuables on show in your car. An empty car is less of a target, even an empty bag could be tempting as the offender wont know if there is anything in it.
