What’s been happening? Good news and Arrests by the team.
Officers interviewed a female and will be approaching CPS for a charging decision around Perverting the Course of Justice. This is due to her making a false statement that saw another woman arrested and interviewed.
Yesterday we were driving in Chelmsley Wood when we saw security chasing a known shoplifter. After helping him detain the male, we arrested him for a theft from shop that just occurred. He was charged and remanded to court the next day. We also interviewed a female for a shop theft in Kingshurst. She admitted to the theft and we will be looking at an out of court disposal to make this first offence she has committed her last one.
We were very lucky to have the West Midlands Police Horses join us for our patrols on Sunday 31st May and today around anti-social behaviour in and around the Kingshurst area. This was well received and there was lots of engagement with the local community. This evening we hosted a volunteer’s event at Arden Hall in Castle Bromwich. We were joined by the Police Cadets, Special Constables our Castle Bromwich Street Watch volunteers along with Heather from the Chelmsley Wood Street Watch to support us. What a lovely event it was and we have got a few people interested in joining some of our volunteer groups. If you would like to more information on what volunteering opportunities are available within the Police, please get in touch. A big thank you for all that came to support us and for Arden Hall for allowing us to facilitate it.
We are very sad to be losing our Sgt Lauren Stopher Murrary this evening and thank her for all the good work she has done and for supporting us. However, we are very pleased to welcome our new Sgt Helen Houston.
