Local Area Update

Dear Resident please see below a weekly update of incidents/crimes/good outcomes in relation to the Benfieldside, Blackhill, Bridgehill and Shotley bridge area over the last week.

Local Update 22nd May - 3rd June

On Monday 25th May a moped has been stolen from Riverside around 2000hrs. The moped was fitted with a tracker and located in Newcastle’s area, and after a short pursuit, 2 males were arrested and the bike recovered. A crime of theft of a motor vehicle has been recorded. If anyone has sighted anything or has any information in regards to the incident please contact Durham Police on 101 and quote crime ref. CRI00684162

On Friday 29th May a report was received about a group of 3 off road bikes on the green near to Valley Gardens. An area search was conducted by attending officers with no trace of the bike, If anyone has sighted anything or has any information in regards to the incident, please contact Durham Police on 101 and quote incident no. On Wednesday 3rd May it has been reported that a vehicle on York Road has had its front and rear plates stolen sometime between 0800hrs and 1200hrs. The plates were located shortly on Plantation Street. The caller has been given a diary appointment at which point a crime will be recorded.
