Community Update – Incident on Lowther Road, Kingston

At approximately 5:00pm yesterday (2 May 2026), emergency services responded to reports of a loud explosion at a residential address on Lowther Road, Kingston.

Significant damage was caused to the property, and one male resident was seriously injured. Sadly, he passed away this morning. Next of kin have been informed.

The London Fire Brigade is continuing to investigate the cause of the explosion. A police cordon remains in place while enquiries are ongoing.

No other residents were injured or required evacuation, and there is no ongoing risk to the wider public.
