Kingsway Enforcement Update |
||
|
Good afternoon all,
For those of you who pay attention to the news you may have seen the sentencing of the tragic fatal incident in March. This highlights our commitment to continue to target those who use Burnage and Kingsways as a racetrack using high visibility enforcement and covert tactics. Whether this be using our local neighbourhood officers, specialist departments and special constables into the early hours.
Over the past month over 60 tickets have been given out apart of Operation Skyvale for various driving offences including speed with the highest being 62mph in a 30mph zone. These stops have lead to other outcomes with drivers being arrested for drug driving and possession with intent to supply drugs. This enforcement will continue over the coming months, i encourage you all to report any driving offences to us online or via Operation Snap to help crackdown on these dangerous drivers putting the Burnage community at risk.
Issues were raised at the last Coffee with a Cop event regarding illegal electric bikes, this has become a priority to myself with action actively being taken, I recently saw one of these bikes being ridden on Kingsway in an antisocial manner with the intimidating drivers wearing his balaclava, unfortunately for him I recognised the rider and attended his address whereby he was arrested and bike taken off him, it was a long walk back from custody for the rider! If you have any idea where these bikes are being stored, please reply to this post or report it via GMP or Crimestoppers and I will look at taking action.
The next Coffee with a Cop date is in the process of being confirmed, once a date is agreed I shall send another post with the date and venue, in the meantime I would love to hear from you for any comments or suggestions.
Best regards PC 08062 WOOD
