Stay Safe this Summer |
||
|
Good morning Manor Park,
With the approach of summer we want all our residents to stay safe. You will have doubtless seen reports on the news of the tragic deaths of people who have drowned during the recent heatwave. These deaths have been of people of all ages. Evidence points to our summers getting hotter and with the approach of the holidays we want all our residents to stay safe.
Please be aware of the dangers of swimming in open water. These include: STOP AND THINK People get into trouble due to things like peer pressure, showing off, poor hazard awareness, poor swimming ability, alcohol and drugs.
KNOW WHAT TO DO * Do not enter the water if there is no supervision/lifeguards or if you have concerns - trust your instincts. * If you get into difficulty float on your back * If you see someone in trouble try and tell them to float on their back - DO NOT enter the water after them. * If you see someone in difficulty throw them something that floats.
We want you to enjoy the summer - We want you to STAY SAFE.
Best wishes
Douglas Waterman PCSO 7134NE Manor Park SNT.
