A reminder to be mindful of home security, especially during warmer weather when windows and doors are more likely to be left open.

We understand people want fresh air in the house, but open windows and unlocked doors can make it much easier for someone to get in without being noticed. Many offences happen simply because an opportunity is there.

If you’re at home, keep an eye on which windows are open, especially ones that can be easily reached from the street or back gardens. 

If you’re going out, even for a short time, make sure everything is shut and locked. The same applies at night, before going to bed.

Keep valuables out of view where possible, and don’t leave items near windows or doors where they can be taken quickly.

A few simple checks can prevent a crime. Taking those extra seconds to secure your home can make a real difference.
