Bury St Edmunds – man arrested after serious assault |

A 32-year-old man has been arrested after another man was assaulted in Bury St Edmunds.
Police were called at 3:18am yesterday, Sunday 31 May, to reports that a man in his 40s had been assaulted at the BP petrol station shop, Rougham Road.
Following a verbal altercation the victim was hit with a glass bottle, causing multiple lacerations which required hospital treatment. The man has now been discharged from hospital.
A short time after the incident officers located the suspect on Southgate Street. The 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicious of causing grievous bodily harm and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
A scene was in place but has now been lifted and the petrol station has fully reopened.
