National Neighbourhood Watch Week - HILLINGDON |
||||
Dear Member, Neighbourhood Watch is the largest volunteer-led crime prevention charity in the country and, since our launch on the new Alerts platform in October 2024, Hillingdon now has the highest membership across all of the 32 London Boroughs at around 10% of all residents. In the past year alone there have been many instances where residents across the borough have responded to appeals by stepping forwards with crucial CCTV and other evidence to help the police, resulting in the arrest and conviction of criminals. Stronger communities are safer communities, and our current aim is to continue to work closely with the police on our borough to connect to as many new residents as possible in the coming year, making Hillingdon a safer place in which to live and work. The highest Neighbourhood Watch membership of all of the UK force areas using the Alerts system is currently around 14% (Lancashire) - a benchmark which ought to be achievable by the residents of Hillingdon.
So, how can you help? Our best recruiters are our existing members! You are best-placed to connect to your neighbours and friends in your road or immediate area who have not yet signed up to receive messages from Neighbourhood Watch and from the police via Met Engage, the two separate messaging channels that are delivered via the one integrated system. To help improve your community, please therefore take a moment this week to encourage others to join by sharing a link to our website on your own or ward-based social media pages, and of course on your WhatsApp street groups. You can find us at www.hillingdonnhw.co.uk or you can post the graphic below, or this entire message.
Thank you for your continued support of Neighbourhood Watch and the police on Hillingdon borough. | ||||
