We are reminding residents to take simple steps to help prevent motor vehicle crime in your area.

✅ Always lock your vehicle and ensure windows are fully closed
✅ Never leave valuables on display – even small items can attract attention
✅ Remove keys from the ignition, even when parked outside your home
✅ Park in well-lit areas or, where possible, use secure parking
✅ Double-check that your vehicle is locked before leaving it
✅ Consider using steering locks or additional security devices

🔑 Keyless Vehicle Owners:
Vehicles with keyless entry are increasingly targeted. To reduce your risk:
✅ Keep your keys away from doors and windows at home
✅ Use a Faraday pouch or signal-blocking case for your keys
✅ Turn off keyless entry (if your vehicle allows it)
✅ Be mindful of where spare keys are stored

🚫 Opportunistic thefts often occur when vehicles are left insecure, even for a short time. Taking these precautions can significantly reduce your risk.
