Dreamland and Margate Policing

Dear residents of Margate,

   Kent Police and British Transport Police have numerous officers deployed to Margate today (Friday 29th May 2026). There is a large event on at Dreamland and we are seeing a high numbers of visitors to the main beach owing to the warm weather. As a contingency we have a dispersal order in place and have the power to direct people away from Margate if they cause anti-social behaviour. Currently four people have been dispersed and a quantity of alcohol has been seized. Overall though most people are enjoying the sun and hospitality of Margate.   

  Kent Police are adopting a robust policing approach to ensure all residents, businesses, and visitors in Margate can safely enjoy the weekend.
