Coalville Beat Update

Dear Residents.

Not one, but TWO vehicles seized today on the Coalville beat for having no TAX and no MOT.

A reminder to all drivers – displaying an out-of-date trade plate will NOT protect you. Trade plates cannot be used to keep untaxed vehicles on the road or avoid legal responsibilities.

Trade Plate Rules – Quick Reminder:
Trade plates are only to be used by motor traders and only for specific purposes, such as:
. Test drives
. Demonstrating a vehicle to a customer

. Delivering or collecting a vehicle
. Driving a vehicle to or from repair, MOT, or inspection

They cannot be used:

. On vehicles for personal use

. To avoid taxing a vehicle

. On vehicles that are not in the motor trade

. When expired or out of date

Vehicles must be taxed, insured, and have a valid MOT where required. Failure to comply may result in your vehicle being seized.

Please make sure your vehicle is road legal before driving.
