Theft of Motor Vehicle

Dear Resident

There has been a theft of motor vehicle. The vehicle in question was a KIA (Black) LD23 UBW

The vehicle was taken from BALDWINS LANE close to CROXLEY DANES SCHOOL between the 24th of May and 25th May at times between 7pm and 11am the following day.

Have you noticed anyone or anything suspicious in the area or have any information that may be of use to the police regarding this crime or have CCTV/Ring Doorbell which may assist us?

If so, please contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 and quote crime reference: 41/48223/26

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox or a keyless signal can be received by relay devices.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers, steering wheel locks or ghost immobilisers.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.
